Well, I finished that quilt and it went to my oldest daughter for a wedding present. I am now back to working on my other daughters Hawaiian quilt. I am doing an echo stitch over the entire quilt. I fear it is going to take me a while but I hope to have it done before Christmas. It would make a wonderful heirloom quilt to give her to hand down through her family. Here are some recent photos. I am enjoying the quilting portion finally and hope all continues well.

Punch Drunk Needle Works: Almost Done !!!

Almost Done !!!

Well, I have been diligently working on my quilt and I hope that my sweet daughter will forgive me for not working on hers for a while. Just felt a need to do something a bit different for just a little while.
It is looking so comfy and I can hardly wait to get it done. I figure one more week at the most and I can snuggle up under it. Its not huge, maybe 65 x 48 with a 3 1/2 - 4 " border. Haven't quite decided yet.
I am going to call it my Vintage Roses quilt since the fabric is a vintage fabric with embroidered roses on it.

Everyone needs to have a nice  comfy chair to sit in and this one with the sherpa is just the ticket. I can sit here for a very long time without feeling the need to move about.

Also an nice location with a view makes it perfect.

I will be back on your quilt Sissy as soon as this is done. It is in the basket right beside me saying,

"Hey, don't forget about me".

Your are on the top of the list to finish next.

Hope you all have a great day and at least take a moment to
stitch a stitch a day.

Quiet Time and Maybe a Wink or Two For Me

Puppies are all settled down for a mid winters afternoon
nap and I have some Teriyaki chicken in the slow cooker and I think I may join them for a couple of winks myself. My Quilt will still be there waiting for me when I wake up unless some little gremlins come and finish it for me.

Till tomorrow. TTFN

This One Is Mine.

I have three quilts going right now.  One is my daughters Hawaiian quilt, Two, is my granddaughters triangle quilt, and three is MY QUILT.

I am using fabric that was given to me a couple of years ago by a friend that I met on Facebook.

The center fabric is a raw silk with little tiny embroidered roses and the backing is a complementary cotton fabric with roses of the same color. It makes for a perfect match. Wasn't sure what I was going to do with the raw silk as it was too pretty to cut at all so my friend Monica from the Quilters Cottage in Toledo, Oregon, suggested doing a one on one quilt.
Perfect and when I found the backing I was so excited. She helped me to lay it out yesterday and this is what I have accomplished so far. I am going to love this.
The raw silk fabric seems to be a vintage fabric and three of us are in agreement on that. How do you like my combinations?

I am using the vine of the stem and leaves as my quilting guide.

Of course Baxter has to keep an eye out for visitors and then a much needed morning nap. Lab butts make great pillows.
So till tomorrow.
Have a perfect creative day .

Punch Drunk Needle Works: Saying Good Bye to 2013

Punch Drunk Needle Works:
Good Bye 2013 and Hello 2014
Okay, well, like I said I am going to spend less time on Facebook and more time on my Blogs and doing things that are important to me. My family and sewing, quilting and when the weather turns warmer, working in the yard. I have been blessed with this house but it is a lot more work to keep up with. I love it. The hubby loves it and so do the dogs. The bird, Pete, not sure. His space remains the same but he has a much nicer view now.
so I hope you will stop by and say hello and see what I am up to now and then. Happy New year to you all.

A Few of My Current Projects.

I made these for my granddaughters and I hope that they like them.

I wanted to share the purses that I made for two of my Granddaughters for Christmas. I found the instructions on Pintrest and although they are a bit time consuming they really turn out great, I think. I will get the instructions and share that info with you in a little while.

I am going to be starting yet another quilt just for me. I love working on the Hawaiian quilt but I also have a plan in mind for a new bedroom scheme and it includes a new red and white quilt. Not absolutely sure which pattern I am going to use yet though so will also share that with you as soon as I decide.

I am going to make red and white gingham checked curtains to take me back to my childhood bedroom that my mother had done for me when I was having my tonsils out and then came down with the mumps too. I was a very sick puppy. Right now I have a dark paneling in my room and I am going to paint it white.

So I guess you might say I have a lot of projects in the pan and I need to get busy so I hope you will enjoy reading and watching my adventure for my new bedroom.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy New Year 2014

Well, Happy New Year ** 2014 **  to all my old friends.
Seems like ages since I last posted on here and I am going to make some big changes to that. I am only going to FB to communicate with my friends and family as they seem to find Phones obsolete and it seems that this is the only way to stay up to date with everyone.

I am doing a lot of quilting these days and one of the largest projects is my daughters Hawaiian Quilt. It is queen size and is all hand stitched.
A huge amount of stitching and a labor of love. I am almost finished appliqueing the flower to the top backing then I can begin the quilting portion of it.
This is what it looks like so far. The whole flower is one piece cut like you do with snowflakes but I did separate the center after is was cut.

I had to baste in all on first the hand turn applique the entire surface. My husband is holding this up above his head. He is 6 feet tall.

I am also working on this one for my
granddaughter.

I am really going to spend more time here and visiting with all my ole blogging friends and catching up with what everyone has been doing this past year.
If I were to make a new years resolution it would be to spend my time more productively and less time on the computer.

My husband and I started a new tradition this year. We have started a good things jar. Every day you write about something good that has happened to you today and put it in the jar. When you think that your life is nothing but bad and negative things you go back and read about all the positive things that have happened to you this year.

Well my dear friends that I hope will stop back in to say hello and visit me again , I am Back.
Happy New Year to you all from Our home to yours.
